Yearly Mean of Irradiance in the World

The following map displays the mean irradiance that reached the ground in the world for the year. This irradiance is expressed in W/m². This map is computed from observations made by meteorological satellites from 1990 to 2004. Yearly average of daily irradiation is obtained by multiplying this quantity by 24 (in Wh/m²) or 86.4 (in kJ/m²). Click on map to display the map in pdf format.
