The SoDa service has been developed in the framework of the project SoDa "SoDa. Integration and exploitation of networked Solar radiation Databases for environment monitoring", supported by the European Commission, contract IST-1999-12245. The project began on January 1, 2000 and ended in March 2003.

Since January 2003, the SoDa Service is an operational service.

The service is improved and maintained by Armines / MINES ParisTech, Centre Energétique et Procédés (CEP), in Sophia-Antipolis, France. Technical responsibles are Lionel Ménard and Lucien Wald. The CEP ensures the sustainability and development of the SoDa Service. Human, computer and financial resources are engaged for that purpose.

Authors of the original working version (v 3.0) of the core software (the SoDa Intelligent System) are Clive Best and Erik van der Goot, from the Joint Research Center at Ispra, Italy.

Version 4.0 is the transposition of v3.0 at Mines ParisTech, under the supervision of Michel Albuisson (2003).

Version 5.0 results from the works of Michel Albuisson, Benoît Gschwind and Mong Thu Huynh Nguyen, from Armines / MINES ParisTech (Summer 2004).

A new interface was developed in Spring 2005 by Benoît Gschwind and Fabien Wald. It offers an access to services without the need of Java.

Various contributions to the software from Michel Albuisson (till 2006), Benoît Gschwind (2006), Fabien Wald (2006).
